Last Z Season 4 Guide: Moonlit Elegy Progression, Cards and Night Events
Updated October 12, 2026
Getting Started in Moonlit Elegy
Vampire / Moonlit Elegy introduces a fresh territory contest alongside resistance-based hunting, Moonlight cards and scheduled nighttime encounters. Your opening priorities are Holy Water production, sufficient Virus Resistance and enough Fuel to cover both hunting periods.
- Develop Shadow Spring alongside Serum Lab rather than neglecting either building.
- During Week 1, claim rewards from 30 daytime Fatty monsters and another 30 nighttime Fatty monsters each day.
- Plan around night starting at 03:00, 11:00 and 19:00 JP/KR Time.
- Finish as many as three Hunter’s Contracts daily.
- Give useful Slot 4 cards special attention: their effects reach every squad.
Before leaving Dinosaur Origin, collect outstanding rewards and finish exchanges that are about to expire. Coordinate your alliance’s starting territory and rally availability, while keeping seasonal purchases separate from your Diamond savings.
Why Some Guides Number This Season Differently
The current sequence places Moonlit Elegy in Season 4:
| Season | Theme |
|---|---|
| 2 | Winter / Everfrost |
| 3 | Dinosaur Origin |
| 4 | Vampire / Moonlit Elegy |
| 5 | Not yet confirmed |
Some older servers had an extra season before Winter, so their Vampire material may use Season 5 instead. Identify relevant information through the theme and feature names. That older numbering neither identifies the post-Vampire season nor confirms when heroes arrive on newer servers.
City control resets for the seasonal territory race. Werewolves and Succubi take over as standard seasonal enemies, while the Mysterious Witch, Moonlight Collection, blessings and Night Market provide additional progression paths.
Familiar Systems With Vampire Names
These comparisons help returning players understand each feature’s role; they do not carry over Dinosaur-era prices or reward caps.
| Dinosaur Origin name | Vampire equivalent |
|---|---|
| Raptor | Werewolf |
| Stegosaurus | Succubus |
| Cretaceous Dragon Scale / Cretaceous Scales | Shadow Blood Crystal |
| Cycad Leaf / Fern Leaves | Holy Water |
| Dinosaur Egg / Ancient Dino Eggs | Silver Moon Coin |
Dark Succubus and Demon Stone are new additions in Season 4.
Build Production and Resistance Together
Place your seasonal structures and work through the construction objectives. The core loop is straightforward: Shadow Spring generates Holy Water, which supports upgrades, while Serum Lab increases the resistance needed for tougher enemies.
| Structure | Benefit | Upgrade approach |
|---|---|---|
| Shadow Spring | Holy Water output | Expand production when it becomes the lab’s bottleneck |
| Serum Lab | Virus Resistance | Aim for upgrades that unlock practical hunting improvements |
| Command Center | Seasonal Troop DMG | Invest once production and hunting are functioning |
| Fire Control Center | Seasonal Troop ATK | Compare its cost with competing combat upgrades |
| Defense Fortress | Seasonal Troop DEF | Add survivability alongside offensive improvements |
A failed rally can have different causes. When resistance falls short of the enemy requirement, improve the lab. When resistance is adequate, review your formation or recruit stronger alliance support. Extra resistance does not automatically solve a combat-strength problem.
Inspect each structure’s own upgrade recipe. Holy Water and Shadow Blood Crystals support construction, but different buildings need not share identical costs. Winter-era percentages and level milestones are not reliable Vampire targets.
Know Which Currency You Are Spending
| Resource | Typical acquisition | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Holy Water | Shadow Spring | Seasonal construction |
| Shadow Blood Crystal | Regular Werewolves and Succubi | Seasonal construction |
| Demon Stone | Monsters, initial-clear chests and activities | Witch Favor |
| Moonlight Voucher | Witch rewards and seasonal activities | Moonlight Divination draws |
| Silver Moon Coin / Moon Token | Duplicate cards, hunting rewards and tasks | Silver Moon Shop and Trade Hub Night Market |
| Silver Ingot | Sealed Duchess reward progression | Eternal Night Duke donations |
Silver Moon Coins are also described as Moon Tokens in older terminology. Moonlight Coupons from the Witch support card acquisition; the draw interface uses the voucher name. Neither should be confused with shop currency.
Demon Stones belong to Witch progression, not your construction-crystal budget. Always verify the displayed currency icon before evaluating an offer.
Hunting, Fuel and Daily Reward Caps
| Enemy | Fuel cost | Main reason to fight |
|---|---|---|
| Werewolf | 8 | Early seasonal farming while building resistance |
| Ordinary Succubus | 16 | Higher-tier hunting and construction crystals |
| Night Succubus | 16 | Night objectives and weekly placement |
Newly cleared monster levels can award extra chests. Open those containing Demon Stones and deliver the stones to the Witch. Repeatedly farming a cleared level does not mean its initial-clear chest becomes available again every day.
Compare successful rewards against Fuel spent. A Succubus consumes twice the Fuel of a Werewolf; if it also awards twice the crystals, both provide the same crystal efficiency. Remaining reward attempts and unclaimed initial-clear bonuses can still change the better choice.
Week 1 Has Two Independent Allowances
You can earn rewards from 30 daytime Fatty monsters and 30 nighttime Fatty monsters daily, totaling 60 rewarded kills. Exhausting the daytime counter leaves the nighttime counter untouched.
Keep Fuel available for both periods. Their reward pools differ, so nighttime hunting cannot automatically replace ordinary crystal farming. These Week 1 figures do not confirm later limits, and Dinosaur Origin’s 30-to-15 rule should not be imported into this season.
Night Falls Schedule and Ranking Rules
Night starts at 03:00, 11:00 and 19:00 JP/KR Time every day. Convert those times for your location rather than treating them as device-local hours.
| Week | Duration per night period |
|---|---|
| 1 | 1 hour |
| 2 | 2 hours |
| 3 | 3 hours |
| 4 | 4 hours |
| 5 | 5 hours |
| 6 | 6 hours |
| 7 | 7 hours |
| 8 onward | Eternal Night |
Night Succubi become available during these periods. Weekly placement depends on your strongest defeated Night Succubus level. If players tie, the earlier qualifying victory takes precedence.
Only the successful rally’s starter receives that ranking credit. Joining helps the leader but does not grant you their placement. Weekly prizes are delivered through mail on Monday.
Rally tasks are separate from ranking. They can award Moon Tokens, Moonlight Vouchers and Power Cores, but their wording matters:
- A launch requirement means you must start the rally.
- An objective allowing launch or participation can be advanced by joining.
- Additional easy victories may complete tasks without improving your best-level result.
Arrange leadership before hunting. Strong players can support another player’s qualifying attempt by joining that player’s rally.
Progress Through the Mysterious Witch
The card pipeline begins with Demon Stones: give them to the Witch, raise Favor, collect Moonlight Coupons and obtain Moonlight Collection Cards.
Find the Witch under the Season menu. Her progression rewards include coupons, card chests and general upgrade items. Regular hunting and seasonal activities also provide stones, so initial-clear chests are only part of your income.
| Menu | Function |
|---|---|
| Mysterious Witch | Exchange stones for Favor and collect rewards |
| Moonlight Divination | Use vouchers for randomized draws |
| Moonlight Collection | Review card ownership and collection effects |
| Moonlight Blessing | Equip cards into squad-specific or global rows |
| Moonlight Operation | Check related Succubus objectives |
Higher affection unlocks further blessing space, including the third squad’s row and the global row. Revisit Blessing after an unlock: empty spaces provide no equipped effect.
Before buying Demon Stones, estimate what normal play will supply. A purchase is more compelling when it reaches an important unlock before a planned fight than when it merely advances a lengthy reward track.
Cards, Duplicates and Selection Chests
Cards have blue, purple and orange/gold rarities. Divination is random, and an attempt does not necessarily produce a card. Duplicates become Moon Tokens according to rarity; they are not a separate material for leveling cards.
Collection effects and equipped blessings are distinct. A card can matter to collection progress even when it is not assigned to a row.
For efficient collection building, use rewards in this order:
- Spend available draw vouchers.
- Open randomized card chests.
- Use a selection chest for a valuable card still missing.
This reduces avoidable duplicate selections. However, an immediately useful card may justify opening a choice chest before an important battle rather than holding it until the season finishes.
Set Up Moonlight Blessing Correctly
There are up to four card formations, but the final row is global—not a fourth APC squad.
| Slot | Recipient | Suggested focus |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | APC Squad 1 | Main squad’s troop type and combat needs |
| 2 | APC Squad 2 | Bonuses suited to its actual deployment |
| 3 | APC Squad 3 | Effects tailored to that squad |
| 4 | All squads | Widely useful combat improvements |
When options are limited, useful global cards deserve priority because multiple squads benefit. Compare Troop DMG, HP and damage reduction there, then distribute appropriate ATK, DEF and troop-specific effects among the individual rows.
Match specialized cards to the army:
- Wings of Dawn: Shooters.
- Blood Rose: Assaulters.
- Guard of Order: Riders.
Higher rarity does not rescue a mismatched troop bonus. Build around the cards you own instead of assuming a complete orange deck is necessary. Since these bonuses are seasonal, consider the remaining battles before spending heavily to finish a collection.
Weekly Events and Their Roles
| Activity | Availability | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Hunter’s Contracts | During night; maximum 3 daily per player | Locate a Hunter Camp and speak with its Hunter |
| Night Ritual | Monday, Wednesday, Friday; begins 10 minutes into night and runs 50 minutes | Attack Night Altars and finish objectives |
| Sealed Duchess | Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday; begins 10 minutes into night and runs 50 minutes | Rally against the city-affecting boss |
| Dawn Hunt | Sunday | Play the counterpart to Dino Rescue / Black Market Guardian |
| Eternal Night Duke | Sunday after night starts; available beginning Week 4 | Participate in the President-summoned server boss |
Eternal Night from Week 8 expands monster access, but does not remove the separate weekly event timetable.
Night Ritual
Find Night Altars on the world map and attack with your alliance. Normal monster rallies do not substitute for Ritual participation. Combat rewards and weekly objectives provide seasonal currency, vouchers and progression supplies.
Sealed Duchess
The Duchess curses alliance-controlled cities, reducing their benefits until she is defeated. Organize rallies to clear the curse rather than treating the encounter as only a personal reward source.
Her tasks also yield Silver Ingots for Eternal Night Duke donations. Keep these separate from shop currency, and do not assume Night Succubus ranking-credit rules apply to this boss.
Hunter’s Contracts
Visit a Hunter Camp while night is active and talk to the Hunter. Each player may finish up to three Contracts daily. Contracts have expiration timers, and camps vanish at the end of night.
Gold Contracts have limited availability, so initially taking only one gives others an opportunity. Share useful camp locations with your alliance and inspect objectives before committing: some require troop training or Diamond spending.
Quick Tips
- Keep Holy Water output growing alongside Virus Resistance.
- Budget Week 1 Fuel for both independent 30-kill reward counters.
- Convert JP/KR night times before scheduling rallies.
- Let the player needing ranking credit launch the qualifying Night Succubus rally.
- Open Demon Stone chests and collect Witch rewards regularly.
- Equip newly unlocked blessing spaces immediately.
- Favor relevant global bonuses in Slot 4 over unsuitable high-rarity cards.
- Use random card rewards before choosing a missing card from a selection chest.
- Save Silver Ingots for Duke donations and check Contract costs before accepting.
