Last Z: Survival Shooter Vault Master Guide: Upgrades and Alliance Planning
Updated October 12, 2026
Make Vault Master a Season 2 Priority
For players choosing Support in Mastery Hall, Vault Master deserves an early place in the upgrade plan. Its resource benefits extend across your alliance, but getting good results requires both investment and careful deployment timing.
Keep 5 Mastery Points ready before the skill becomes accessible. Unlock it at the first opportunity, then aim for level 5 immediately rather than leaving it at its starting rank.
The reason is straightforward: every level provides another +30% to troop load when looting. At maximum level, that bonus reaches +150%.
Understand the Upgrade Bonuses
Vault Master increases how much your looting troops can carry. Higher capacity improves the resource potential of each vault opportunity, particularly when players bring strong troops and coordinate their attacks.
| Skill level | Bonus to looting troop load | Upgrade priority |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | +30% | A starting benefit, not the intended endpoint |
| 2 | +60% | An improvement worth building on |
| 3 | +90% | A temporary stop if points are scarce |
| 4 | +120% | Nearly at maximum strength |
| 5 | +150% | The preferred investment target |
Planning your points ahead of time avoids a long wait between unlocking the skill and reaching its most valuable rank.
Know the Vault Restrictions
Deployment planning needs to account for several separate limits:
| Mechanic | Limit |
|---|---|
| Active duration | 30 minutes |
| Total loot capacity | Up to 100 loots |
| Individual alliance member allowance | Up to 2 loots daily |
| Deployment frequency for each player | Once per 7 days |
These restrictions make an unannounced vault a poor gamble. Even a fully upgraded deployment loses value if eligible attackers are offline or have exhausted their daily allowance.
Multiple vault windows provide more opportunities to participate; they do not increase anyone's daily loot limit.
Build a Weekly Deployment Roster
Start by recording which players have unlocked Vault Master. Assign their deployments throughout the 7-day week, using different Apoc Time slots to accommodate active members.
With 21 players on the roster, an alliance can arrange 3 vault windows daily. The following example shows how the opening days could look:
| Day | Apoc Time | Assigned player |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | 00:00 | Player 1 |
| Monday | 12:00 | Player 2 |
| Monday | 18:00 | Player 3 |
| Tuesday | 00:00 | Player 4 |
| Tuesday | 12:00 | Player 5 |
| Tuesday | 18:00 | Player 6 |
| Wednesday | 00:00 | Player 7 |
| Wednesday | 12:00 | Player 8 |
| Wednesday | 18:00 | Player 9 |
Continue assigning the remaining players across the rest of the week. Adjust the hours to match actual attendance rather than following a timetable that leaves vaults empty.
Before each deployment, check:
- Whether enough alliance members will be online.
- Whether those members still have unused daily loots.
- Whether another scheduled vault already serves the same group.
- Whether the assigned player is available to deploy on time.
Avoid clustering deployments around members who have already claimed their 2 daily loots.
Reserve Saturday for Weaker Vaults
Saturday is a useful slot for players whose Vault Master has not reached its maximum level.
During Enemy Buster Day in Alliance Duel, players can teleport into the opposing server and gather resources more easily. That alternative makes a lower-level vault less of a disadvantage on Saturday.
Where practical, schedule your level 5 deployments on days when members have fewer convenient resource opportunities. Saturday timings can remain flexible around alliance activity.
Prepare Your Troops Before Attacking
Bring the strongest troops you have available. Stronger units help attacks go more smoothly, ease injury pressure, and improve the value gained during the vault's limited lifetime.
Coordinate attack timing with alliance members whenever possible. Shared timing is preferable to scattered solo attempts, especially when many players need access within the same 30-minute period.
Use this pre-attack checklist:
- Confirm that you have not reached your daily loot cap.
- Select your best available troops.
- Check troop condition and hospital pressure before committing.
- Arrive for the announced deployment slot.
- Follow the agreed attack timing when several vaults are scheduled.
A vault window is not a reason to ignore an already strained hospital or depleted army.
Avoid These Planning Errors
Putting off the unlock: If you are already progressing through Support, delaying Vault Master postpones a valuable Season 2 farming tool.
Treating the first level as sufficient: The initial bonus helps, but the upgrade plan should aim at the full +150% load increase.
Deploying without checking attendance: A vault only remains available for 30 minutes. Offline members cannot make use of that opportunity.
Forgetting individual limits: Spare capacity inside a vault does not help players who have already taken their daily loot allowance.
Sending weaker units unnecessarily: Use better troops when they are available instead of accepting avoidable injury pressure and less effective attacks.
Verify the Live Skill Details
Check your current Mastery Hall display before investing points or arranging a deployment. If the game lists different skill values or a different cooldown, use those live details rather than an older plan.
The planning figures covered here are +30% load per level, +150% at level 5, a 30-minute duration, 100 loots maximum, 2 daily loots per member, and one deployment per player every 7 days.
Quick Tips
- Choose Vault Master promptly when progressing through Support.
- Bank 5 Mastery Points ahead of the unlock and target level 5.
- Maintain a weekly roster instead of deploying without notice.
- Check attendance and unused loot allowances before opening a vault.
- Favor Saturday for lower-level deployments when Enemy Buster Day offers easier alternative farming.
- Attack with your best troops and coordinate timing with alliance members.
- Treat the current in-game skill display as the final authority.
