Azur Promilia Gameplay Guide: Combat, Elements, and Kibo Explained

Updated October 12, 2026

Welcome, Starborn, to Azur Promilia! This guide will prepare you for your adventures, covering everything from real-time combat and creature collection to the intricate elemental system and character progression.

The Starborn's Journey

As a Starborn, your adventure in Promilia centers around building a formidable team. This involves selecting three characters and collecting the world's unique creatures, known as Kibo. Gameplay seamlessly blends real-time action combat with engaging activities like Kibo capturing, farming, cooking, and building your personal Homestead.

Understanding Elements

Promilia features nine distinct elements that influence damage in combat, alongside a 'None' designation for the absence of an element. Each of the seven primary elements deals amplified damage to two specific elements and reduced damage to two others. When facing enemies with dual elemental affiliations, both elemental interactions are factored into the combat calculations.

Kibo Duels: Elemental Impact Amplified

During Kibo Duels, elemental advantages and disadvantages are even more pronounced, with damage adjustments of 33% instead of the 25% seen in field combat. This makes strategic elemental matching crucial for success in these one-on-one encounters.

Character Combat Toolkit

Every character in Azur Promilia possesses a unique set of combat abilities:

  • Normal Attack: Your character's fundamental attack sequence, typically comprising three to six hits.
  • Heavy Attack: Performed by holding the attack button. Many characters have special variations tied to specific normal attack stages.
  • Dash Attack: An attack executed immediately after dodging.
  • Plunge Attack: An attack performed while airborne.
  • Starcall Art: A character-specific skill with a cooldown. Some, like Morwyn's, can hold multiple charges.
  • Stardecree Art: Your character's ultimate ability, activated once its dedicated charge meter is full.
  • Starlink Art: An ability triggered when swapping characters. An incoming character's Starlink Art activates upon entry, while a departing character's keeps them on the field until the skill concludes.

Sigils and Overlimit Mechanics

Elemental Sigils

Certain skills, primarily the three Arts, along with some Normal and Heavy attacks and Kibo abilities, generate elemental Sigils upon hitting an enemy. These Sigils are shared across your entire team, with a maximum of five per element. Each elemental Sigil type acts as a unique buff that strengthens proportionally to the number of Sigils you've accumulated.

Overlimit Damage

Skills designed for it can consume these collected Sigils to unleash 'Overlimit damage' of the corresponding element. Each element's Overlimit damage also comes with a distinct secondary effect. The 'Overlimit Power' stat directly influences the potency of this damage and can be enhanced through gear, Starbless gifts, and consumable dishes.

Advanced Combat Dynamics

Stance and Poise

  • Stance: A critical resource for strong enemies. Attacking gradually depletes an enemy's Stance, with 'Stance Break Efficiency' speeding up the process. A perfectly timed counter can significantly reduce it. Breaking an enemy's Stance renders them vulnerable, causing them to take 200% increased damage—a window many characters and Kibo are designed to exploit.
  • Poise: This attribute dictates your character's resistance to being staggered or interrupted during attacks.

Befriending Kibo

Kibo are the indigenous creatures of Promilia. To catch one, you must form a 'Starlink' using a 'Starlink Card,' which comes in nine grades from Ordinary to Flawless. Your success rate increases with a higher-grade card, reducing the Kibo's HP, and having greater 'Connection Power.' Once Starlinked, a Kibo can join your combat team.

Kibo Progression

After capturing a Kibo, you can raise and develop it through various distinct pathways, allowing for diverse customization.
