Chasing Kaleidorider Combat & Activity Guide: Master Marks, Breaks & Hysteria
Updated October 12, 2026
Welcome, Rider, to a comprehensive guide designed to elevate your combat prowess and navigate the diverse challenges of Chasing Kaleidorider. Understanding the core mechanics and optimizing your strategy is key to success against the encroaching HYSTERIA.
Core Combat Mechanics
At the heart of Chasing Kaleidorider's combat are its unique systems: Marks, Explosions, and the crucial concept of Weak Points and Breaks.
Marks and Explosions Explained
Marks are status effects that characters apply, leading to powerful chain reactions. Understanding their synergy is vital.
- Explosion Chains: When an Explosion or Secondary Explosion critically strikes, it can trigger another Secondary Explosion, creating devastating cascades of damage.
- Grand Assault Marks: Strategically applying Grand Assault Marks can enable Grand Assaults to extend indefinitely, providing sustained periods of boosted power.
- Anomaly Marks: The combination of Infection and Purge Anomaly Marks offers a potent offensive and defensive synergy.
- Precision and Breaks: Higher Precision stat on your characters makes it significantly easier to inflict Breaks on enemies.
- Healing Marks: These are crucial for managing incoming damage and ensuring your team's survival in tough encounters.
- Strategic Wait: This unique Mark deals damage to foes based on the applying character's current Shield Strength.
Mastering Weak Points and Breaks
Exploiting enemy Weak Points is fundamental to quickly incapacitating them and dealing maximum damage.
- Counter Damage: Using a skill that matches an enemy's Weak Point color inflicts increased Counter Damage and applies CRACK based on the skill's properties.
- Cracked and Broken: Accumulating CRACK will eventually lead to an enemy becoming BROKEN. Broken enemies suffer increased damage from all sources.
- Interrupting Attacks: Breaking an enemy can disrupt their skill casting, preventing dangerous attacks from going off.
- CRACK Specialists: Characters from the Coordinated Attack and Support classes often excel at applying CRACK quickly.
- Grand Assault Points: Inflicting CRACK on enemies generates Grand Assault Points. Defeating an enemy also grants points equal to half its remaining Toughness.
- Grand Assault Benefits: During a Grand Assault, Energy is instantly restored, and its regeneration rate is boosted, offering more tactical flexibility with an increased hand card limit.
- Skill Usage: Main Attack skills inflict minimal CRACK; save them for when enemies are already BROKEN to maximize their impact. Harmonizer skills reduce Toughness effectively without immediately defeating enemies, making them ideal for generating Grand Assault Points.
Encountering HYSTERIA: Enemy & Stage Mechanics
Chasing Kaleidorider features a variety of HYSTERIA and environmental challenges. Adaptability is key.
HYSTERIA Behaviors
- Hysteria Weak Points: When HYSTERIA takes damage, its Weak Point will cycle through different types.
- Shielded Units: Shields block a single instance of allied skill or explosion damage and can obstruct clear actions. Effects that recolor will not work on shielded units.
- Drone Movement: Drones will move towards the location where nearby HYSTERIA have been defeated.
- Counter Damage Only: Some enemies can only be damaged by Counter Damage.
- Weak Point Assimilation: Defeating certain HYSTERIA will cause surrounding HYSTERIA to adopt its Weak Points.
Environmental Hazards & Interactive Elements
- Recon and Shell Boxes: Normal Recon and Shell Boxes destroy adjacent similar boxes when defeated. Red Recon Boxes trigger a secondary explosion. Green Shell Boxes fall if nothing is beneath them, exploding on impact. Yellow Recon and Shell Boxes recolor adjacent boxes yellow when defeated, and adjacent yellow boxes are automatically cleared.
- Rules and Edicts: When a Rule is broken, it applies 1 point of CRACK to all other Rules. Edicts instantly remove the BROKEN status from Rules. Rules are permanently destroyed after being broken twice. Breaking one Rule can sometimes trigger a chain-BREAK across others.
- Backpacks and Books: A Backpack is cleared when its color matches the Book in the same column. After a clear, you can swap any two Books. If this swap leads to another clear, you get an additional swap.
- Monster Surge: Enemies continuously spawn. Defeat them for points; stronger foes yield more points.
- Relentless Challenge: The Boss in this challenge will revive repeatedly, requiring a sustained engagement.
Game Modes & Activities
Chasing Kaleidorider offers several modes, each with distinct objectives and mechanics.
Cruise Fields
Cruise Fields offer unique challenges and progression.
- Increased Speed: HYSTERIA move faster in Cruise Fields.
- Mindscape Effects: Most stages in this mode feature active Mindscape Effects.
- Mindscape Customization: Every Mindscape Node can be upgraded, and Mindscapes can be reset freely to experiment with different combinations.
- HYSTERIA Trial: You'll face Bosses from various regions. Completing the Trial unlocks sweep rewards. You can challenge the HYSTERIA Trial up to three times daily.
Stage Types
Stages are categorized by their primary objective and mechanics.
- Drill Stages: These stages offer powerful Badges as rewards. Your allies also deal increased Counter Damage within Drill stages.
- Communion Frequency: This enemy component is only targetable during a Grand Assault.
- Star Creators: Timed self-destructing Star Creators must be eliminated quickly.
- Subsp. Bony Jellyfish: These enemies drastically reduce your team's Energy Regeneration when present.
- Pontus Strategy: While Pontus is in stealth, defeating other HYSTERIA rapidly can suppress its continuous HP or Toughness recovery.
- Sovereign of All Paths: Prioritize its summons due to their unique death effects. Breaking the Sovereign is the only way to interrupt its final phase skill.
- Scoring: Faster stage clears lead to higher final scores.
- Endless Difficulty: Bosses possess infinite HP in this difficulty. Breaking any HYSTERIA weakens the Boss's empowered abilities. Some HYSTERIA require an additional Break after losing all HP; clear these quickly.
Pest Buster (The Cage of Worms)
Pest Buster is a high-difficulty mode featuring powerful, evolving boss-level HYSTERIA.
Gameplay Overview
Each phase introduces one to two new HYSTERIA bosses across six difficulty tiers. Defeat them to earn generous rewards and accumulate challenge points for rankings.
Boss Enhancements
Bosses here are significantly stronger than their regular counterparts. They gain new traits and skills as difficulty increases; check details before battle.
Combat Assistance
Each phase provides unique buff effects. Select a team composition that synergizes with these buffs.
Points and Rankings
Points are awarded based on battle performance. For phases with two bosses, scores are combined. Remaining time boosts your point multiplier.
| Difficulty | Point Multiplier |
|---|---|
| I | x 1 |
| II | x 1.5 |
| III | x 2 |
| IV | x 2.5 |
| V | x 3 |
| VI | x 5 |
Rankings are based on total points and refresh periodically. The leaderboard resets with each Pest Buster update cycle.
Challenge Rewards
Claim rewards for each HYSTERIA boss successfully defeated.
Locking and Unlocking
Once team members enter battle, they become locked. They can be used for subsequent attempts, but cannot be changed for the current challenge. Resetting clears challenge points but retains your highest score and unlocks members for re-selection.
City Patrol
Assign four Riders to patrol the city, uncovering clues and confronting Primogenitor HYSTERIA. You'll navigate between the real world and Twisted Fields.
Patrol Events
- Story Events: Assign characters based on their MBTI type and level for better success rates.
- Random Battles: Can be auto or manually played. Auto mode relies on combat power comparisons, while manual mode is direct combat.
- Fixed Battles: These cannot be avoided. Failing one ends the patrol.
Anomaly Field Benefits
During Anomaly Field patrols, you can acquire Marks and Creations. Marks provide blessings to boost overall combat power, with a wider variety appearing due to the Twisted Fields' complexity. Creations improve resource acquisition, indirectly strengthening your team.
Mind Imprint
Completing a patrol yields Investigation Reports, which offer specialized training to improve Rider performance in Anomaly Fields and during patrols.
Patrol Rewards
- First Clear Rewards: Granted upon initial completion of a patrol.
- Collection Rewards: Earned for collecting specific numbers of Marks, Creations, or Events.
- Weekly Rewards: HYSTERIA Crystals received weekly (limit increases with difficulty unlocked), exchangeable for supplies.
- Level Rewards: Patrol Points from MTF 404 increase your Patrol Level, unlocking corresponding rewards.
Field Patrol
Daily operations where Riders suppress minor HYSTERIA outbreaks in rotating designated areas.
Gameplay Overview
Engage HYSTERIA and resolve incidents. Marks obtained can be used on the 409 Support Drone to greatly enhance your party. The choices made in the first two stages determine later Mark types, so choose wisely. Suitable party members can yield additional Marks.
KALEIDO Chests and Mints
Rewards from chests can be enhanced using Kaleido Mints. Completing the second and third battle waves grants two KALEIDO Chests each, plus two Kaleido Mints per chest. Using Mints has a chance to lure TV Cats, which significantly increase the quantity and value of chest rewards.
- TV Cat Lure Chance: 50%
- Trace Materialization Chance: 25%
Upon completion, Patrol Points are granted by MTF 404 to upgrade your Patrol Level, unlocking rewards.
Field Purge
Explore high-concentration fields to uncover formidable HYSTERIA or unexpected discoveries.
Event Details
Most Field Purge events disappear permanently after achieving Perfect completion (3 Stars) and do not refresh.
Stamina Cost
Most combat events only consume Stamina on the first clear. Exiting or restarting a battle mid-way will not incur additional Stamina costs.
Lost Items
Lost Items are scattered throughout the maps. Explore thoroughly to collect them all.
