At its heart, the game revolves around "Beyonder potions." These mystical concoctions grant superhuman abilities and are central to character advancement. Each potion belongs to a specific "Pathway," an ascending ladder of power, beginning at Sequence 9 (the least powerful) and culminating at Sequence 0 (near-divine status). Your ultimate goal is to consume these potions, digest their power, and ascend the Sequences.
The World: An Age of Occult Industry
Your adventures unfold across the Five Seas and the Northern Continent, a realm undergoing an industrial revolution. This means you'll encounter steam engines, railroads, telegraphs, and firearms alongside the hidden, supernatural forces that shape events, often unseen by ordinary citizens.
Your journey typically begins in the Kingdom of Loen, the dominant global power. Initially, much of your early experience will be concentrated in the foggy industrial city of Tingen, before the wider world becomes accessible.
Divine Powers: The Seven Orthodox Gods
Above nations and individuals stand the Seven Orthodox Gods. Each deity is revered by a dedicated Church, which not only functions as a religious institution but also as a powerful supernatural entity. These Churches are closely linked to specific Beyonder Pathways, and faith, ritual, and prayer are potent forces in this world.

Beyonders and Their Pathways
A Beyonder is an individual who gains supernatural capabilities by consuming a Beyonder potion. These powers originate from one of 22 distinct Pathways that exist within the world's lore.
Your Chosen Path
While 22 Pathways exist in the lore, the game allows you to play as one of six distinct professions, each corresponding to a specific Pathway. Your chosen profession is fixed from the start and dictates your abilities, role, and the unique powers you will acquire throughout your progression. These professions are named after their Sequence-9 title. Notably, two professions—the Warrior and the Spectator—can even switch between different combat stances.
The Core Progression Loop
Your character's power growth is driven by a repeating cycle, understanding which is key to efficient advancement:
- Explore & Quest: Traverse the map, engage with non-player characters (NPCs), accept quests, and unravel the mysteries of each region. This advances the narrative and unlocks crucial potion ingredients.
