Anchor Panic Game Modes Guide: Conquer Every Challenge
Updated October 12, 2026
Welcome, Linker, to your essential guide to all the diverse game modes in Anchor Panic! Beyond the core story, a wealth of challenges awaits, each offering unique rewards and demanding different strategies. Understanding where to invest your time and how to prepare is key to maximizing your progress and enjoyment.
Before diving into specific modes, it's crucial to grasp the Weakness & Break system, which underpins all combat. Every enemy has specific elemental weaknesses and a blue tenacity bar. Attacking with operators whose element matches the enemy's weakness rapidly depletes this bar. Off-element attacks are significantly less effective (80% reduced efficiency). When tenacity hits zero, the enemy enters a 'Break' state for two turns, becoming highly vulnerable and taking vastly increased damage. After Break ends, their tenacity fully restores. Exploiting weaknesses is your primary tactical advantage in every fight.
Core Progression & Exploration
These modes are your bread and butter for character development and resource acquisition.
The Maze: Roguelike Expeditions
The Maze offers a roguelike adventure where you navigate a dynamic map, uncover treasures, and seek the exit. A locator helps guide you if you get lost. This mode is designed for replayability, offering continuous progression as your squad grows stronger.
Towers: Deep Subconscious Dives
Towers are pure combat trials, pushing your roster's limits against escalating enemy waves. Success hinges on carefully analyzing enemy traits and aligning your team's elemental strengths. There are two primary types:
Element-Specific Towers (Subconscious Deepseek)
This collection features six distinct towers, each locked to a specific element: Physical, Lightning, Fire, Ice, Natural, and Quantum. Each tower contains five stages, with five difficulty levels per stage. Every level introduces a unique enemy 'Feature' that requires specific counter-strategies. Clearing these towers grants vital investment materials for operators of that tower's element, making them critical for ascending your main damage dealers.
The Climb Tower
A singular, extensive tower that unlocks in phases as your account level increases. It progresses through themed zones, acting as a long-term checklist that provides substantial one-time rewards upon completion. Early zones become accessible quickly, while later ones require higher account levels.
Competitive & Cooperative Challenges
Test your squad against other players or team up with your Union.
Arena: PvP Duels
Engage in 1v1 asynchronous Player vs. Player combat. You challenge another Linker's defensive lineup, earning points for victories to climb the ranks. Remember to configure a separate defense team, as your offensive squad is initially copied over, ensuring you maintain rank while offline.
Advanced Arena: 3v3 Tactical Showdown
This advanced PvP mode escalates the challenge. Instead of one team, you deploy three distinct five-operator lineups, each with its own formation. These are matched against an opponent's three squads. Success here demands a broad and deep roster, as each operator can only be assigned to one of your three teams.
City Unlimited: Ranked Sector Races
City Unlimited is a ranked, room-based scoring competition spanning three districts: Downtown, Midtown, and Uptown. You compete with other Linkers in a room, earning points by clearing stages. Your final rank determines if you advance, hold your position, or drop down. This mode heavily rewards elemental breadth due to specific stage targets.
- Scoring Multipliers: Stage value is amplified by specific target conditions. Meeting elemental requirements with your roster offers significant bonus points.
- Rank Rewards: Rewards are tiered (e.g., 1st, 2nd-3rd, 4th-10th) and unique to each district. Promotion to higher districts yields superior rewards.
Union Activities
Joining a Union (guild) unlocks major cooperative-competitive events, both impacting leaderboards.
Union Siege
Your entire Union works together to defeat a shared boss. Your ranking is based on total damage dealt by the Union. The boss battle occurs in rounds; clearing one advances to a new, more challenging round. You have a limited number of daily attempts, resetting at 5 AM local time. You can review individual member contributions.
Land Clash: Union vs. Union Warfare
This is a large-scale Union-versus-Union facility conflict. You configure two defensive and two offensive teams before the event starts. Once active, defensive teams and operator stats become locked, while offensive teams remain adjustable. Each match is determined over two battles:
- Battle 1: Your first offensive team attacks the enemy's first defensive team.
- Battle 2: Your second offensive team attacks the enemy's second defensive team.
Destroying enemy Energy facilities provides bonus Processing Power.
Base & Idle Systems
Beyond combat, your Base functions as your game's idle economy. Here, you construct and upgrade buildings (constrained by Electric Power and Titanium), manage production lines for materials and operator experience, dispatch operators for resources, and oversee the Dorm. The Dorm's comfort level, enhanced by furniture, accelerates fatigue recovery. These systems run automatically, silently funding all your other activities.
Quick Tips
- Prioritize Weaknesses: Always match elements to enemy weaknesses for optimal damage and faster Breaks.
- Build Diverse Rosters: Many modes, especially Advanced Arena and City Unlimited, benefit from a broad selection of elementally diverse operators.
- Master Specific Features: For Element Towers, pay close attention to enemy 'Features' to adapt your strategy.
- Manage Union Teams: In Land Clash, strategically assign and configure both attack and defense teams.
- Utilize Base Systems: Regularly collect idle resources from your Base to fuel progression.
