Dragon Traveler PvP Guide: Arena, Colosseum, Leagues & Wars Explained
Updated October 12, 2026
Dragon Traveler offers a thrilling array of player-versus-player (PvP) modes, allowing you to test your Luminary teams and strategic prowess against others. From daily skirmishes to cross-server wars, understanding each mode's mechanics and rewards is key to climbing the ranks and earning valuable resources.
Arena
The Arena is your daily proving ground for individual Luminary power, focusing on head-to-head challenges and persistent ranking.
Challenges and Attempts
- Initiating a Challenge: Select any Ringsworn player from your list who isn't currently engaged in battle.
- Rank Swapping: Successfully defeating a higher-ranked defender will cause your ranks to switch. If a battle times out, the attacker automatically loses.
- Daily Attempts: You receive 5 free attempts every day, which reset at 5:00 AM local time. Unused attempts do not carry over.
- Purchasing Attempts: Should you run out, additional attempts can be bought with Diamonds. The cost for each subsequent purchase increases within a single day.
Rewards
- Daily Rank Rewards: Your rank is finalized at 9:00 PM daily, and corresponding rewards are delivered via in-game mail.
- Best Rank Bonus: Achieve a new personal best rank to receive a one-time bonus delivered to your inbox.
- Arena Store: Earn Arena Coins from participation and ranking, which can be spent in the Arena Store for exclusive items.
- Value Packs: Reaching specific rank tiers unlocks special value packs, also purchasable with Arena Coins.
Defense and Battle Records
- Defense Team: Ensure you set up your defense team on the dedicated defense screen.
- Battle Reports: Review recent match outcomes in your battle history.
Colosseum
Ascend through a series of stages in the Colosseum, a unique challenge featuring one-on-one Luminary combat and strategic buffs.
Gameplay Mechanics
- Stage Progression: Advance by defeating successive stages. Each stage only grants rewards for your initial victory; subsequent clears only improve your best time.
- Luminary Switching: Deploy up to three Luminaries, fighting one-on-one. Tap a Luminary's portrait to swap them into battle.
- Stage Buffs & Targets: Every stage features a specific buff and a speed target. Fulfilling the speed target's requirements yields significant rewards.
- Stage Groups: Stages are organized into groups of five. A new group becomes accessible once its specific time and speed conditions are met.
- Recommended Luminaries: Utilizing recommended Luminaries significantly reduces your final clear time. These units are treated as having 6 additional stars for combat calculations within the Colosseum.
Seasons and Ranking
- Seasonal Structure: Each season spans 14 days and introduces a unique Luminary buff. At the season's conclusion, the Colosseum resets, and rewards are distributed based on your rank.
- Ranking Criteria: Only players who successfully clear all 20 stages are eligible for ranking. Ranking is determined by the shortest total clear time. In case of a tie, the player with less actual combat time prevails.
- Combat Adjustments: Overdrive energy recovers faster in the Colosseum, and Luminary class balances are adjusted for this mode.
Points League
The Points League is a weekly competitive event where you battle opponents of similar strength to earn points and climb a seasonal ladder.
- Schedule: This league runs weekly, starting Monday at 6:00 AM and concluding Sunday at 12:00 AM.
- Attempts: You receive a fixed number of attempts daily. Each match initiation consumes an attempt, regardless of whether you complete the battle.
- Hidden Luminaries: At higher ranks, some of your opponent's Luminaries may be hidden as silhouettes, with more being concealed as your rank increases.
- Manual Skill Control: Unlike some other modes, you can manually activate Luminary skills during battles.
- Points and Rank: Battle outcomes determine your points, which in turn dictate your rank. Weekly ranking rewards are distributed based on your total points.
Advanced Points Match
This elite league provides a more challenging, long-term competitive experience for highly ranked players.
Season Structure and Entry
- Weekly Settlement: Ranks and points are settled weekly.
- Seasonal Reset: A full season comprises four weeks, after which all points, ranks, and standings are reset.
- Entry Requirement: To participate, you must achieve the Champion rank in the Points League. This requirement resets each season.
Attempts and Tickets
- Free Challenges: You receive three free challenges daily.
- Additional Tickets: More challenges can be purchased using tickets. The number of tickets you receive daily and can purchase is linked to your current Points League rank.
Points and Ranks
- Points Gain/Loss: Winning challenges earns points, while losing them costs points. Being successfully challenged by another player also affects your points similarly.
- Defense Points: Points are only awarded for your first 10 successful defenses each day.
- Rank Tiers: Ranks progress from Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Master, culminating in King. Each rank has nine divisions (IX to I).
- King Rank: Only the top 100 players on the points leaderboard can achieve King rank; all others cap at Master.
Battles and Rewards
- Opponent Selection: You are presented with three potential opponents, each progressively higher in points.
- Match Format: Each engagement consists of three team-vs-team battles. Winning at least two of these three battles secures overall victory.
- Rewards: Victories increase your points, rank, and idle rewards. Idle rewards include Honor Insignia, which accrue over time at higher ranks and can be spent in the Advanced Store.
- Promotion Bonuses: A one-time reward is granted each time you achieve a new rank within a season.
- End-of-Season Rewards: The top 100 players receive rewards based on their ranking band. All other players receive rewards according to their attained rank.
Holy King Contest
The Holy King Contest is a high-stakes, multi-week event focusing on individual Luminary duels and team strategy.
Season Overview
- Schedule: The first two weeks involve server-specific matches (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday). The third week features cross-server competition (Thursday, Saturday). New servers whose first contest falls in week three will compete on their own server.
- Sign-Up: Registration is open from 5:10 AM to 7:50 PM on match days, requiring a full team of 10 Luminaries. Players with a Primordial Dragon III or higher, along with the top 20 from the previous contest (if not long absent), are automatically enrolled at the deadline.
- Cross-Server Qualification: At the end of the second week, the top 8 players from each server advance to represent their server in the cross-server week.
- Match Phases: Each match includes a preparation phase (where teams can be adjusted), a locked preparation phase, and the actual battle phase.
- Scoring: Points are awarded for wins, losses, Luminary HP differences, and other factors.
Qualifiers (8:00 PM to 8:25 PM)
- Format: Players engage in 10 matches, each using a different Luminary (no duplicates). The top 8 participants advance to the finals.
- Preparation: Each match allows 1 minute and 30 seconds for Luminary reordering, with the last 30 seconds locked.
- Battle Duration: Matches last 1 minute. If both Luminaries remain standing, the one with a higher remaining HP percentage wins.
- No Elimination: Losses during qualifiers do not eliminate you, encouraging experimentation with different teams.
- Combat Adjustments: Skill activation frequency and Overdrive energy recovery are increased. Classes are rebalanced, and both sides gain berserk effects twice as the battle progresses.
Finals (8:25 PM to 8:35 PM)
- Stages: Consists of Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, and a Grand Final. A single loss eliminates you for the day.
- Team Format: Each match involves 3 Luminaries fighting sequentially; no Luminary can be used more than once.
- Battle Duration: Matches last 2 minutes. Victory is determined first by the number of Luminaries still alive, then by the higher remaining HP percentage.
Betting and Ranking
- Betting: From sign-up until qualifier conclusion, you can wager Diamonds on previous contest's top 20 players. Returns vary based on their final placement, the number of other backers, and the timing of your bet.
- Match Ranking: Determined by final wins, then total wins, then qualifier points. Rewards are sent via mail.
- Season Ranking: Based on final wins, then finals played, then qualifier points.
Realm Clash
Realm Clash is a large-scale, cross-server tournament where entire servers compete for supremacy.
- Zone Matching: Servers that opened around similar times are grouped into zones, typically up to 8 servers. Entry is automatic for qualifying players.
- Schedule:
- Thursday: Up to 64 players (top 8 from each server) compete for the top 8 spots.
- Saturday: The remaining 8 players battle for the season title.
- Match Times: Battles run from 7:50 PM to 8:10:30 PM.
- Knockout Format: Losing a match results in immediate elimination for the day.
- Team Composition: You must prepare three distinct teams. Each match utilizes one team, and each team can only be used once per day.
- Pre-Match Preparation: During the 10 minutes before matches begin, you can only reorder your teams, not change their composition or Luminary positioning.
- Match Mechanics: Each battle has 1 minute and 30 seconds of preparation (locked for the final 30 seconds) and lasts 2 minutes. The side with the higher remaining HP percentage wins.
- Winner's Red Envelope: After Saturday's matches, every server receives a winner's red envelope, tied to the tier of its highest-ranked player. All active players on that server can claim it until the season ends.
- Betting: Wagers open during the preparation phase of each match day:
- Thursday Matches: Monday 5:10 AM to Thursday 8:00 PM (bet on a player's final group placement).
- Saturday Matches: Friday 5:10 AM to Saturday 8:00 PM (bet on a player's final season placement).
- Ranking and Rewards: Players are ranked by total wins, then matches played, then points. Rewards are delivered via mail at 5:00 AM the day after Saturday's matches.
Cloudborne War
The Cloudborne War is a massive server-vs-server event where factions clash in strategic battles for points and rewards.
Schedule and Matching
- Cycle: Servers are paired across the entire game. Each round consists of a matching phase (Saturday 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM), the war itself (Saturday 9:00 AM to Monday 9:00 PM of the following week), followed by a break until the next Saturday.
- Faction Combat: This is a two-team PvP event. Each round designates two factions, and all your Luminaries and dragons must belong to one of these specified factions.
- King of the Hill Battles: Teams take turns attacking. The winning team remains on the field to face the next opponent, and the side that defeats both enemy teams claims victory.
- Matching Rules: Opponents are assigned from Saturday 5:00 AM. From 6:00 AM, you can view your opponent and pre-set your teams. Only servers open for 25 days or more are eligible.
The War Phase
- Attack & Revenge: From 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM each day, you can initiate attacks or seek revenge.
- Rank and Production: Your initial entry grants a rank, which generates Cloud Flowers and points over time. Higher ranks yield greater production.
- Climbing Ranks: Challenge higher-ranked players to improve your position.
- Cloud Flower Theft: Defeating a player from the enemy server allows you to steal a portion of their Cloud Flowers, while they lose a share of theirs.
- Daily Rewards: Rank rewards are settled daily at 9:00 PM and sent via mail.
- Server Victory: The server with the highest combined points (calculated using the same number of players from each side) is declared the winner.
- Grand Prize: The grand prize pool grows with the number of participants, and each server's share is proportional to its contribution to the total points.
Break Phase
- Prize Distribution: Grand prizes are delivered via mail after the Monday 9:00 PM settlement. During the break, you can review the round summary and identify your server's MVP.
