MapleStory Classic Damage calculator Guide

Updated October 21, 2026

The MapleStory Classic World damage calculator projects hit damage and DPS using your equipment, character stats, and chosen skill. It can also estimate how many hits you need to defeat a selected monster, though its results do not yet account for monster defense.

What the Calculator Supports

All four jobs are covered, with physical and magical attacks handled differently.

JobDamage modelBase stats to enter
WarriorPhysicalSTR primary, DEX secondary
BowmanPhysicalDEX primary, STR secondary
ThiefPhysicalLUK primary, DEX secondary
MagicianMagic, using Magic Attack and INTINT for the magic calculation

Your job selection determines the relevant stats, available weapon categories, and skill options. JavaScript must be enabled for the interactive calculator to work.

Set Up Your Character

Enter Stats Before Equipment Bonuses

For physical jobs, enter your primary and secondary attributes without any gear bonuses. Equipment contributions are added separately, so including them in your base values would count them twice.

Choose Equipment and Adjust Its Values

Search within each equipment slot to find compatible items. The searchable lists load dynamically and display attack values alongside level requirements.

Choosing a weapon fills in its attack value automatically. Wands and staves use Magic Attack instead of Weapon Attack.

Some weapons also reveal an ammunition selector:

Weapon typeAmmunition handling
BowAdds ammunition attack to weapon attack
CrossbowAdds ammunition attack to weapon attack
ClawAdds ammunition attack to weapon attack

Each selected armor item provides editable fields for its primary-stat bonus and attack contribution. These begin with the item’s listed values, but you can change them to represent scroll upgrades or equipment variants.

For a scrolled weapon, increase the Weapon W.ATK value to reflect its upgraded attack. Enter flat attack bonuses from effects such as Rage or attack potions under Buff attack power.

Match Your Skill and Attack Speed

Several settings affect the estimate beyond your equipment.

SettingHow it affects the result
Attack animationSelect Swing, Stab, or Mixed to match the skill’s animation.
Weapon MasteryAccepts levels 0–10; higher mastery increases minimum damage.
Weapon BoosterWhen enabled, improves attack speed by two tiers.
SkillSupplies the damage percentage and hit count used in the calculation.

Animation matters for weapons with different swing and stab multipliers, including axes, daggers, spears, and pole arms. Using the wrong animation can therefore change the projected damage even when every other input stays the same.

The DPS estimate combines calculated damage with attack timing, so remember to enable Booster when it is active in your setup.

Add a Monster for Target-Specific Estimates

The optional monster selector uses a dynamically loaded list. Choosing a target applies the level-gap damage penalty and uses that monster’s HP to estimate the hits and time required for a kill.

For Magicians, the target calculation also accounts for the elemental modifier associated with the selected spell’s element.

There are two important limits:

  • Defense is displayed, not deducted. A confirmed monster-defense formula has not yet been incorporated.
  • Accuracy is treated as sufficient. The estimate assumes your attacks can connect rather than modeling misses.

Because defense is omitted, projected DPS can be somewhat optimistic against heavily defended enemies. Adding defense to target-specific damage remains a planned improvement once its formula is confirmed.

Read the Results

ResultMeaning
Minimum hit damageThe lower end of the calculated damage range
Average hit damageThe estimated average damage for an individual hit
Maximum hit damageThe upper end of the calculated damage range
DPSEstimated damage output per second
Hits to killEstimated hit count needed to defeat the selected target
Time to killEstimated duration needed to defeat that target

Use the damage range to compare individual hits and DPS to compare sustained output. Target-based kill estimates add useful context, but they remain projections rather than guarantees because defense and misses are not modeled.

Quick Tips

  • Enter base attributes without equipment bonuses.
  • Update armor fields and weapon attack to match your actual upgrades.
  • Include ammunition attack when using a bow, crossbow, or claw.
  • Match Swing, Stab, or Mixed to your skill.
  • Set mastery within 0–10 and enable Booster only when active.
  • Add a monster to include level-gap effects and relevant magic elemental modifiers.
  • Treat high-defense target estimates cautiously: displayed defense does not reduce calculated damage.
