LUK, short for Luck, is one of the four primary stats in MapleStory Classic World and the main damage stat for Thieves. It also helps every class avoid monster attacks and contributes to accuracy, but it does not improve item drops or influence other random outcomes.

What LUK Does
Thief Damage
LUK is the dominant stat behind Thief damage. For the Thief branch, its offensive role is central—not merely an extra defensive or accuracy benefit.
Avoidability
For every class, LUK is the largest stat contributor to avoidability. Avoidability determines the chance of dodging an incoming monster attack, so LUK has a defensive function even outside the Thief branch.
Accuracy
LUK also contributes to accuracy, though its role is secondary. DEX is the accuracy-focused stat that works alongside it; LUK should not be mistaken for the main accuracy stat.

Does Luck Improve Drop Rates?
No. Despite the name, LUK does not make drops more frequent or improve other random outcomes in classic-era MapleStory.
Its effects are mechanical: Thief damage, avoidability, and a secondary contribution to accuracy. Raising LUK for better loot is therefore not a valid reason to invest in it.
