MapleStory Classic STR Guide
Updated October 21, 2026
Strength (STR) is one of the four primary stats in MapleStory Classic World and the main damage stat for Warriors. It also helps determine which weapons you can equip, with additional uses for Bowmen and dagger-wielding Bandits.
STR at a Glance
| Detail | Role |
|---|---|
| Full name | Strength |
| Stat category | Primary |
| Main user | Warrior |
| Other users | Bowman for bow requirements; Bandit for dagger damage |
| Main effects | Melee damage and weapon eligibility |
| Verification status | Pre-launch information |
How STR Affects Damage
Every point of STR contributes to melee weapon damage calculations. This applies to swords, axes, blunt weapons, spears, and polearms, making Strength central to a Warrior’s offensive power.
STR is not the only consideration when building a Warrior: DEX serves as the class’s secondary stat. The full damage formula determines how STR contributes to the final calculation.
STR and Weapon Requirements
Most Warrior weapons have a minimum Strength requirement. Alongside its damage benefits, STR therefore matters when checking whether your character can wield a particular weapon.
Its uses outside the Warrior branch are more specific:
| Class or specialization | Why STR matters |
|---|---|
| Bowman | Bows use STR as a secondary equip requirement. |
| Thief — Bandit | STR contributes part of the damage calculation for dagger users. |
These roles differ from the Warrior’s reliance on Strength as its dominant damage stat.
Quick Tips
- For Warriors, consider STR both a damage stat and a weapon requirement.
- Check a weapon’s minimum STR before planning to equip it.
- As a Bowman, account for the Strength requirement on your bow.
- As a Bandit, remember that STR contributes to dagger damage.
- Treat these details as pre-launch information rather than confirmed launch behavior.
