MapleStory Classic Use items Guide

Updated October 21, 2026

Use items in MapleStory Classic World cover much more than healing: they also provide temporary bonuses, town travel, equipment upgrades, and ammunition. Managing your supplies helps you stay in combat longer without wasting inventory space or meso.

How Use Items Work

These items belong in your inventory’s Use tab. Activating a standard consumable applies its effect and deducts one item from the stack; ammunition and pet supplies are spent through their respective mechanics.

For most consumables, you can either double-click the item or assign it to a number-row hotkey. Keep frequently used recovery items on accessible keys so you do not need to open your inventory during a fight.

Inventory detailWhat to expect
Starting capacity24 slots per inventory tab
Typical potion and food stack200
Scroll and specialty stacksCommonly 100 or fewer
Capacity upgradesAvailable through cash-shop coupons or event rewards

Stack limits vary by item. Apple and Roger's Apple, for example, each hold 300 per stack, so the usual limit is not universal.

Pre-launch note: The details below reflect pre-launch information and may change before release.

Equipment scrolls target particular equipment categories. Successful attempts grant their listed bonuses, while some scrolls can destroy the equipment when they fail.

Most quest materials belong elsewhere in the inventory, but certain quest-related items use this tab.

Choosing Recovery Supplies

Your best healing item depends on how much damage you take, your available slots, and your budget. Stronger recovery items fit more healing into each slot, but higher-tier HP potions can cost more meso for each point restored.

Food can be a cheaper alternative, although its availability and stack capacity differ by item. Compare the actual shop price rather than assuming that a potion is always the better purchase.

The prices in the following tables are sell values, not purchase costs. A dash indicates that a value is not specified here.

Low-tier supplies work well while incoming damage is modest. Once individual hits become much larger, stronger healing reduces the number of consumables you need to activate and carry.

MP recovery options

Magicians depend heavily on MP supplies during training. Physical jobs also need MP for skills and buffs, even if their backup stock is generally smaller.

Recovery for both resources

Combined recovery is useful when both bars need attention or when you want to reserve fewer inventory slots for healing.

Elixir and Power Elixir also belong to the combined-recovery family, but use percentage-based restoration rather than the fixed amounts shown above.

Cooldowns and Emergency Healing

Ordinary fixed-value potions have no built-in cooldown. Red Potion, Orange Potion, White Potion, and Blue Potion can therefore be used repeatedly without waiting for an item timer.

The Elixir family—including Elixir, Mana Elixir, and Power Elixir—has reuse restrictions. Depending on the consumable, the lockout may affect that item or related items.

Do not make a cooldown-limited recovery item your only emergency option. Carry standard potions alongside it so you still have healing available during the lockout.

Temporary Buffs and Class Restrictions

Buff consumables provide a stat bonus for a limited period instead of simply refilling a resource. Many last 10 minutes, making them useful before sustained training or a demanding encounter.

ItemEffectDurationSell value in meso
Dexterity PotionAvoidability +510 minutes250
Sniper PotionAccuracy +510 minutes250
Speed PotionSpeed +810 minutes250

Despite its name, Dexterity Potion increases Avoidability, not Dexterity. Warrior Potion boosts Weapon ATK, while Magic Potion boosts Magic ATK.

Some edible items also provide combat bonuses:

CiderWeapon ATK +151
Drake's BloodWeapon ATK +12300
Fairy's HoneyAvoidability +10250

Consumable buffs can add to skill buffs affecting the same stat, subject to that stat’s soft cap. For example, Warrior Potion and Rage can contribute their bonuses together while both remain active.

Check job requirements before purchasing specialty consumables. An item intended for another class will not activate successfully, and buying an unusable item does not entitle you to a meso refund.

Return Scrolls and Town Travel

Travel scrolls save the walk back to town. Most send you to a named destination, while Return Scroll - Nearest Town selects the nearest Victoria Island town relative to your current map.

There is no separate reuse cooldown, although activation takes a few seconds.

Carry a destination-specific scroll when you need a predictable return point rather than whichever town is closest.

Where to Restock

Town shops are the dependable option. General vendors carry basic healing supplies and food, while more specialized consumables may require a particular merchant or town.

Luna at Henesys Department Store is an early-game supplier, with healing items covering Lv 1–30, basic food, and three local-tier buff potions.

Other acquisition routes include:

  • Monster loot: Treat dropped supplies as a supplement. Consumable drop chances are usually below 1% per kill, making them unreliable for routine restocking.
  • Quest payouts: Early quests frequently award small potion bundles that help cover initial training costs.
  • Specialist merchants: Look beyond general shops when searching for advanced elixirs or uncommon cures.

Before leaving town, check both your stock and your free Use slots. Recovery items, ammunition, scrolls, and unopened boxes all compete for that space.

Quick Tips

  • Hotkey your main HP and MP supplies before starting combat.
  • Keep ordinary potions available when using cooldown-limited elixirs.
  • Check individual stack limits instead of assuming every item holds 200.
  • Compare shop purchase prices; sell values do not show what restocking costs.
  • Use Dexterity Potion for Avoidability and Sniper Potion for Accuracy.
  • Check class restrictions before buying specialized consumables.
  • Bring a town scroll to shorten your return trip.
  • Budget around shop supplies, with drops and quest rewards as extras.
